HELLO / We'd like to take a moment to introduce ourselves. We're RAID PRESS an imprint FOR CREATORS, BY CREATORS. We began operating in 2017 by publishing a yearly anthology featuring the work of both established (Francis Manapul, Ramón K Perez, Tonci Zonjic) and flourishing creators (such as Tri Vuong, Gabe Sapienza, and Irma Kniivila). We're now moving into more creator-centric works and historical reprints. Please take a look at some of our initial offerings below.

FOREST FOLK: PICNICS & HIJINKS

FOREST FOLK: PICNICS & HIJINKS is the premier offering from RAID Press and collects the first 105 comic strips in print for the first time! It also includes development sketches and artist galleries.

Forest Folk is best described as "Looney Tunes crashes headlong into the Sunday Funnies." The strip debuted online in 2016 as a whimsical all-ages weekly comic strip showcasing the misadventures of Filburt the Fox, a know-it-all jokester, and the carefree spirit Thomas the sketching Elf. Thomas' marvellous magical quill can conjure almost anything he draws with it, and he's constantly having to use it to keep his oblivious friend
Filburt out of trouble.

Dax Gordine, writer/artist and creator, pulled inspiration from the comics and cartoons of his youth to create FOREST FOLK. Stories grew organically with this quirky pair and they took Dax on a wondrous creative journey. Five years and 275 weekly strips later their adventures continue to delight and surprise fans as much as Dax himself! 

With the support of fans via Kickstarter, RAID Press is excited to bring you PICNICS & HIJINKS the first book in a series of volumes collecting FOREST FOLK comic strips. This collection will bring smiles to audiences of all ages and so we invite you to support this delightful project with discounted retailer packages on KICKSTARTER.

MR. MONSTER

Created by artist and writer Fred Kelly in the 1940s, during Canada's Golden Age of comics, Doctor Jim Stearne is Mr. Monster, a superhero who harnesses occult power to rid the world of evil. The series began in WOW Comics #26 as part of Canada’s Golden Age of comics and was printed throughout several titles before its final publication in 1947 in Super-Duper Comics #3. 

Today, Mr. Monster’s adventures are exceedingly rare and out of print. Some of the original stories haven’t been seen in 70 years — until now. Scanned from catalogues of both private collectors and the resources of the Library & Archives Canada, this will be the first time Mr. Monster’s chronicles will be told in full, from start to finish in one amazing volume.

MR. MONSTER, The Original Adventures Of Doc. Stearne features all the original comics collected for the first time, along with a gallery featuring over 20 original pieces by various comic powerhouses such as Francis Manapul, Ryan Stegman, Ramón K Pérez, Marcus To, Scott Chantler, J. Bone, and many more. The book also includes a wonderful afterward by 1980's Mr. Monster creator Michael T. Gilbert, along with an interview with Fred Kelly himself. The books will be available for distribution by late summer in both a beautiful hardcover and special limited numbered slipcase edition.

THE RAID ANTHOLOGIES

With volume 4 on it's way, now is the perfect time to prepare folks with RAID anthologies volumes 1 - 3. These anthology volumes present a dynamic and eclectic mix of creators, genres, and styles and feature the personal concepts and creations of RAID members old and new, along with some special guest star surprises in each!

RAID ONE, at 128 pages, features stories by Taran Chadra, Scott Hepburn, Ian Herring, Irma Kniivila, Nimit Malavia, Francis Manapul, Ramón K Pérez, Gibson Quarter, Gabe Sapienza, Marcus To, Eric Vedder, Joe Vriens, Tri Vuong, & Tonci Zonjic, with special guest Kyle James Smith, with an original cover illustration by Tonci Zonjic.

RAID TWO, coming in at a giant 144 pages, features the works of Kalman Andrasofszky, Sheldon Carter, Taran Chadha, Willow Dawson, Anthony Falcone, Ian Herring, Joe Infurnari, Irma Kniivila, Nimit Malavia, Ramón K Pérez, Gabe Sapienza, Gibson Quarter, Kyle J Smith, Cameron Stewart, Mike Valiquette, Eric Vedder, Joverine, Tri Vuong, and special guest Rachel Matile (RHYMEwithRACHEL), with a beautiful cover by Ramón K Pérez!

RAID 3, at a whopping 160 full pages, features the works of Gabe Sapienza, Kyle J Smith, Andrew Healey, Danesh Mohiuddin, Danny Zabbal, Joe Infurnari, Ben Shannon, Dax Gordine, Kalman Andrasofszky, Chad Nolan, Eric Vedder, Sheldon Carter, Anthony Falcone, Gibson Quarter, Marcus To, and Ramón K Pérez, with special guests MsassyK and Ben Shannon, with an original cover by the amazing Joverine!
